- DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Advanced Practice Provider providing direct clinical services to Iredell County Health Department clients (Statesville & Mooresville locations). The provider will assess and evaluate patient needs throughout various clinics, which may include but is not limited to maternal health, family planning, child health, STD/HIV, immunizations, and in the Mobile Health Unit at various locations throughout the community. As indicated, the Advanced Practice Provider will obtain complete health and psychosocial histories and records findings; perform complete physical examinations; order, perform and interpret routine laboratory tests; prescribe, and administer medications according to statutory and agency guidelines; develop health maintenance plans, including health education, disease prevention and anticipatory guidance to clients/families. The APP will additionally work interdependently with other members of the health care team (both in and out of the health department) to improve the quality of health for clinic patients and the community as a whole. In the event of a public health emergency, the provider may be called upon to respond and assist as needed.
- OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide a wide range of services not limited to preventative care, maternal health & family planning services, immunizations, STD testing, vaccinations, lab services, screenings, physicals, health education, and referral services throughout our underserved communities.
- Performs complete physical examinations and obtains and/or reviews a complete health, psychosocial, obstetric/gynecologic and sexual history and documents appropriately based on established criteria.
- Manages and treats problems common to the low risk pregnancy
- Performs walk in physicals for work, DOT, college, & sports.
- Maintains and reviews all patient records to comply with required standards.
- Collaborating and participating with supervisors, managers and others to discuss policies and procedures, program planning, and annual policy review and revision as requested.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Minimum Training: Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board and one year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. CPR certification.
Additional Preferred Training/Experience: The preferred provider will have experience with public health services. Experience with the placement and removal of long-acting contraceptive devices, and maternal health/prenatal care. Preferably two years of experience in the area of assignment.
***Certification to perform DOT physicals will be provided after employment***
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position and primary work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Provider may be required to work at either Statesville, Mooresville, or Mobile Health Unit locations.
Employee is subject to be called upon at any time as needed to work before 8:00 a.m. after 5:00 p.m. or on weekends to help the agency respond to a public health emergency, which may include but is not limited to outbreak investigations, staffing mass dispensing or immunization clinics, providing disaster relief, or incidents (man-made or natural and intentional or non-intentional) as they arise, or any public health response as requested by the Health Director.
SALARY RANGE: Will be based on years of experience. $102,874.01- $160,483.47 (Grade 243)
HIRING RANGE: Will be based on years of experience. $104,931.49 – $134,312.30
